Activision shocks the world by announcing new Call of Duty

Activision CEO, Bobby “Moneybags” Kotick made a huge announcement today. The beloved leader announced from the company’s Santa Monica headquarters that there will in fact be a new Call of Duty game releasing this year.

Many were worried that Activision might pass on releasing a new Call of Duty game this year. The indie developer has only been able to release one new Call of Duty game for consoles for the past 9 years. Activision finally put those fears to rest though by officially announcing Call of Duty: Ghosts today. The first teaser of the game can be viewed below:

Not much is known about Ghosts but it appears that the game will feature some sort of costume simulation, similar to that found in Animal Crossing. As of now, the game can officially be pre-ordered for the PS3, 360, and PC. You better pre-order now if you want to make sure you get a copy. The Call of Duty games are known to have a limited print run. A Wii U version of the game was suspiciously absent, but the game may indeed still be hitting the console. Activision released a statement saying “We don’t have any news for the Wii U at this time, as we aren’t dating next generation platforms yet. Stay tuned.” Indeed, the game will be making it’s real debut on May 21st at Microsoft’s new Xbox unveiling. It will be the first time Microsoft has used the Call of Duty franchise to sell Xbox’s since last year.
