During today’s Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced the very exciting news that the Retro-developed Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze will no longer be hitting the Wii U by the end of the year! Instead, the game will be launching in February next year.
Company president, Satoru Iwata blamed the delay on the need for more time to work on the game. However, Nintendo already has Super Mario 3D World set to launch at a similar time, which would have caused direct competition between the two first party games. By delaying Tropical Freeze into February, Nintendo will be able to ease the pain of a possible software dry spell early next year.
What are your thoughts? Has Nintendo smote Wii U owners with an egregious offense? Or is this the logical decision for Nintendo to come to? Share your opinion in the comment section below!
