Square-Enix has been going through a rough patch lately. Their cash supply is low and Square wants to change that. The company’s president thinks the solution lies in more sequels and DLC. But that’s not the only the company has up its sleeve. It has just been revealed that Square will be launching a new initiative called the Collective Program.
The Collective Program will allow studios to pitch game ideas to the company for possible creation. If members of Square’s Collective Community feedback program approve on an idea, it will be sent off to a crowdfunding site for… funding.
Already, the idea is reportedly taking off with great success! Rumor has it that several anonymous studios have successfully and pitched ideas including: Lara Croft: Titty Raider, Grand Theft Auto V, Final Fantasy VII: Sephiroth’s Wiener Edition. The community quickly approved these ideas for creation and they will soon be moving on to the crowdfunding stage.
What are your thoughts? Share some of your ideas below and maybe Square will make them into reality.
