Bethesda has released a new gameplay trailer for Wolfenstein: The New Order.
Entitled ‘BOOM BOOM’ the new trailer sadly does not star Basil brush, instead opening with a triumphant group of Nazis destroying Mount Rushmore and generally being evil before cutting to the game’s hero BJ Blazkowicz escaping from what looks like a mental hospital before joining up with the resistance to hatch a plan to cripple the new regime by killing high-ranking officials including General Deathhead and Frau Engel,
The whole thing has a fantastic grind house feeling, complete with fast cuts, tongue in cheek dialogue, ultra violence.and more dual wielding than you can shake a pair of MP-5s at.
Along with confirming the game’s release date in Europe as 23rd May in Europe, the trailer somewhat unexpectedly also announced that preordering Wolfenstein: The New Order will grant gamers access to a BETA for DOOM 4 that will kick off at a later date. I say DOOM 4, but it appears that the new game may well be a reboot as it is only referred to as DOOM.
Although there has been no confirmation as to when this BETA will take place and very little is known about the next DOOM game apart from the fact that it has apparently been in development for several years, the fact that a BETA for it is coming as part of a game that’s out in a matter of months make me think that the release of the next installment in ID’s flagship franchise may not be that far away at all.
