Carmageddon: Reincarnation Crashing into Steam Early Access 27th March – Trailer

Today’s news that Carmageddon: reincarnation is coming to steam early access on 27th March has made me feel really fucking old. Apparently its been 17 years since the original controversy baiting racing series debuted.

Carmageddon_boxI can still remember hiding my copy from my mother in the bottom draw of my wardrobe and disguising the desktop shortcut as something more wholesome after I was expressly told that I wasn’t allowed to play it, and had to dispose of the software. I was eleven.

Still, 17 years later and the guys from Stainless guys are finally ready to unleash the sequel to one of my guiltiest pleasures via Steam Early Access at the end of next month. Kickstarter backers will get access two weeks earlier.

Of the announcement, said Patrick Buckland, co-founder and CEO of Stainless Games and creative genius behind Carmageddon,

“It’s brilliant to see our demonic baby rise screaming from the grave,” “This time we could finally do the stuff that we wanted to do 17 years ago. More blood was the main thing. Rivers of livers – that’s what we wanted. Being publisher as well as developer means we get to be stupid. Properly, professionally stupid. And this game is stupider than Jupiter. I mean really silly – but in a good way. Nobody else makes games that make you cry with laughter – but we do. And did I mention the livers?”

Accompanying the announcement Stainless have also released a new trailer for the game shoeing off the crazy amount of damage you can do to your pimped out deathmobile.

Check it out.
