Today Atlus released a trailer for a port Persona 4 for the Playstation Vita: Persona 4 Golden. This version of the game boasts “brand new characters, brand new events, and even brand new network features”. All this sounds quite exciting and is certainly an incentive to go out and buy this version of the game. Brand new characters especially, given the amount of praise the Persona series has received for character interactions.
It’s also worth taking into consideration the graphical improvements that could come as a result of a port to the Vita. Certainly brighter colours and better textures albeit on a much smaller screen. What is probably the most exciting thing however is how this port will utilise the features of the Vita. Certainly the game can preform well on its own merit, at least that’s the impression I’m given when discussing the game with fans of the series. What would be really impressive with this port however, would be effective and creative utilisation of the Vita’s new features.
Unfortunately information is scarce. The official site for the port doesn’t seem to be giving much away but I’ll certainly be watching that space for new info, as should you. However we do have a release date- 20/11/12. Between now and then, we have only to wait and see what new features and characters this game will implement.
