Wii U will support Origin for EA games

It was revealed recently in the official Nintendo magazine that Ea games on the Wii U will have to be connected to Origin in order for them to be played online. This means that you will need to create an Origin account on your console which will require a spread of information which consists of “your Mii information, email address, Nintendo Network ID, friend list, country, language and date of birth but does not include credit card number or other financial account information.”

Both Xbox 360 and PS3 owners both have to use this model also as EA insists the use of their own servers for those who wish to play their games so the news doesn’t come as a shock. Likely that this information will be paired with your username on the Wii U’s online network in a similar fashion to Xbox LIVE so the end result shouldn’t prove to be too cumbersome, at least not for multiple uses. First time users may find the ordeal to be a nuisance but given the amount of time it takes to set up an Origin connection through the other consoles this is unlikely.

It certainly seems as if Nintendo and EA are getting along better. Previous negotiations regarding Wii U’s online service may have left them on shaky ground but alas, the two titans of gaming seem to be able to agree on something.
