Mega Evolution, Super Training, New Pokemon and Gym leader Revealed for Pokemon X/Y

Straight from Pokemon HQ news that there is going to be anew type of evolution in Pokemon X& Y. Mega Evolution.

Certain Pokemon such as Lucario, Mewtwo and Blaziken  will be able to mega evolve during battle boosting their stats and occasionally changing their abilities and type. This is done once they have met certain conditions and are holding a Mega Stone. A new kind of stone which is hidden throughout the Kalos region and are specific to each type of pokemon that can mega evolve.

Unlike Normal Evolution Mega evolution will not be permenant and the Pokemon will return to its original form after the battle is over.

There will also be a new ways to train your pokemon outside of battles by using Super and core training which will help to boost your pokemons basic stats.

Super Training involves  players participating in various mini games. One such game involves  your pokemon facing huge balloon shaped bots in a weird version of dodgeball in which you control our pokemon with the circle pad and touch screen and have to try and shoot balls into a goal whilst avioding getting hit by balls fired at your pokemon by the bots.

Core Training lets players set up training bags, earned by completing Super-Training Regimens for Pokémon in their party to use. Pokémon will then use these to  Train by themselves slowly raising their stats in the background whilst you explore the region.

Next up is news of two new Pokemon to catch in the Kalos region: the Pikachuesque electric/fairy type Dednne and a new normal type pokemon called Bunnelby

Finally, shots of one of the Games new Gym Leader’s has been reveled – Korrina from Shalour City, a seaside town that is home to the Tower of Mastery which may have a connection to Mega Evolution.
