Injustice Gods Among Us Cards: Ranking Health Boosters (Part 1)

The character cards for the iOS version of Injustice: Gods Among Us are increasing every month. Alternate versions of heroes, such as Blackest night Batman and Elseworlds Flash, guarantee that fans will eventually see as many card-fighters as Pokemon.

Each iOS Injustice card has 3 important factors: Health, Power Regeneration, and Strength. Debates will rage about which statistic is the most important and why, but players must craft an effective team of 3 characters to complete the game. A team with the proper support cards will usurp the throne to victory.

In today’s Injustice card rankings, we will show players which cards offer the best Health support as well as how to craft an effective team with them.

Part 1: The best Health Booster cards in the game

5) Green Lantern, New 52 Bronze Card

His Protective Shield ability adds 5% to his team’s health. This version of the Green Lantern isn’t good for much else as his stats are far too low, though his low-cost can get him to Elite V status for 48,000 credits. If he does enter a match, then it is out of desperation or to execute a unblockable attack.

4) Zod, Gold Card

Zod was the reward for completing the 2nd Challenge Stage, which expired at the end of August, 2013. He is not a team-player, as his special ability boosts both his health and his strength by 20% for every team member, not opponent, knocked out. Despite the risk, the huge boost is very rewarding as he, Superman, and the Regime version of Superman are the most powerful cards available in the game.

3) Harley Quinn, Arkham Gold Card

Harley’s Play Doctor ability adds 25% to her team’s health. The problem with this card is that it is only available through Gold Booster Packs, which cost 75,000 to 100,000 credits each. Harley, like Batman Beyond, appears randomly, so promoting either of them to Elite V status is nearly impossible. In addition, getting them in a Booster Pack does not make them available for purchase in the game. Regardless, the 25% health boost is amazing enough to leave her on certain teams of three.

2) Lex Luther, Insurgency Silver Card

The Silver Card of Lex Luther costs 46,000 credits. Thus, of the cards listed on this ranking section he is the second most reasonable to promote to Elite V status. His Force Field ability adds 25% to his team’s health, which is the same as Harley Quinn’s ability. Team him with Harley for a whopping 50% health bonus!

1) Solomon Grundy, Red Son Gold Card

The Red Son cards are only available in either a random Gold Booster Pack (individually) or as a set of 3 in the Red Son Booster Pack. One of those will set you back 300,000 credits. The pack gives you the Red Son versions of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Solomon Grundy. The cost is worth it though, as each card’s special ability increases for every Red Son character on a team. Thus, Solomon Grundy will only give you a 15% health bonus, but if you add another Red Son card then it is 30%, and if you choose to keep the 3 Red Son cards together, then you get a 45% health bonus. His flexibility places him at the top of our list, and he is the best, but most expensive, investment for your overall Health.

Part 2: How should players build teams with these cards?

The first way to use Health Boosters is to team them with a powerful brawler like Doomsday. Doomsday’s special ability restores 50% of his health when he knocks out an opponent. As a result, if he gets a 50% health boost from Silver Lex and Arkham Harley, then he can punch his way to a full powered move, knock out an opponent, and then have full health for the next fighter. Repeat this strategy until you win. This team is pictured below.

The teams that can hinder this group are usually built with Bronze or Silver Green Arrow, Nightwing, or Lex Luther cards. These cards use an attack that drains power and Nightwing cards receive 50% less damage from normal attacks. As a result, if you see these cards on a team, then replace Doomsday with Lobo. Lobo’s special ability does not allow power drains, so he will need the extra health boost to survive the flurry of attacks, not tag out, and use his own full powered attacks to defeat them. If Doomsday or Lobo are not available in your deck, then other hulks like Bane can substitute.

The second way to use  Health Boosters is to give in to Communism. Use the Red Son Solomon Grundy (30% health boost) with the Red Son Wonder Woman (30% Power Regeneration boost). Add in the Regime version of Wonder Woman, who gets 5% Power Regeneration with each blocked attack, and you have an unbeatable team. If you do not have Wonder Woman, then one of the Batman or Superman cards will substitute nicely.

Note that the team pictured above is one of the toughest combinations in the game. With the Regime Wonder Woman as your first fighter players do not need to attack. Just block, take little damage, and fill up your power bars. Once she is fully powered knock out the enemy with her Justice Javelin. Repeat this pattern until you win. Diana is a goddess, so she can take the damage. The support cards give her more health and power regeneration to fill up her power bars very, very quickly.
