It seems that the world of videogaming is hellbent on making me feel old, last month there was a sadly failed attempt at rebooting Mutant Football Legue via the wonders of kickstater and now next up for the potential HD reboot , if they can raise enough mollah, is Boogerman, the 1994 platformer staring a superhero whos powers included sonic flatulance and flickering snot with deadly force.
Created by Mike Stragey and Chris Tremme, Boogerman tells the tale of Snotty Ragsdale AKA Boogerman, an eccentric millionaire posing as a mild mannered Janitor working for the globally renowned scientist, Professor Stinkbaum.
After catastrophic accident in the lab Snotty is sent round the U bend to Dimension X-Crement where he will have to use his mega-powered bodily functions to takedown the dreaded Booger Meister and his army of Nose Goblins.
Players will pick, flick, run, jump, fly, gas, and swim their way through 6 unique worlds. Throughout the game, you will be aided by professor Stinkbaum with brand new gadgets such as the Snot Whip, and the Snot-so-Silent-Butt-Deadly Fart Copter!
The new version of the game entitled Boogerman 20th Anniversary will be based on the original in terms of setting, story, and characters and tone but will feature a new game structure, new mechanics, new levels, and new gorgeous HD animation, art, and a new musical score by Grant Kirkhope the maestro behind Rare’s classic N64 titles including Banjoe Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64.
Stragey and Tremme need to raise at $375,000 by 20th November to bring the game to PC, Mac, PS4, PSVita and WiiU some time next year.
At time of going press they have raised just over $6,000
