The first season cast of DLC characters for Injustice: Gods Among Us has finished. Batgirl, Lobo, Scorpion from the Mortal Kombat universe, and Zod have all entered the alternate reality, which resulted when Superman was taken advantage of with the Scarecrow’s fear-toxin.
The first character to be revealed after the initial season pass ended was the Martian Man Hunter, who fans had been rooting for since the first announcement of the fighter. Now, the latest DLC character to be added to the mix is the sorceress, Zatanna. She is available for download beginning August 12, 2013.
Zatanna has been a stead fast and well-developed support character in DC’s Animated Universe since the 1990′s. She debuted in Batman: The Animated Series, and was a brief member of the Teen Titans in the wonderful Young Justice series, where she and Rocket quickly jumped ship to help the big guns in the Justice League.
She is also easily identified as she speaks backwards in order to cast her spells. In the fantastic new 52 comic book series Justice League Dark, which has been green lit as a film, one can read her incantations in this manner. For example, if she says, “Tcetorp em,” then she summons a protective field.
The last bit of Injustice news comes with the announcement of a new skin for Cyborg Superman. It should be noted that Cyborg Superman is not a Clark Kent persona. In the comics, Cyborg Superman’s human half is named Hank Henshaw. He had also become the leader of the Manhunters as well as a member of the Sinestro Corps.
