The Top 5 iOS Injustice Gold Card Fighters

This week’s Top 5 concludes Laser Lemming’s coverage of the best card-fighters in the iOS Injustice: Gods Among Us. Today, the focus is on the Gold card-fighters, who are the most powerful characters in the game.

Unfortunately, many of the heroes and villains in this league do not offer useful special abilities. On the other hand, all of the characters that compose this countdown, therefore, are worth their weight in credits.

5) Batman

There are many Batmen to sift through in the game. However, this version of Batman stands heads and shoulders above the rest. His Tactical Genius ability adds 25% to his team’s damage, and this allows him to stay in the shadows if players want to upgrade other characters.

In addition, every special attack from this Batman is devastating! His level 2 attack, called Way of the Bat, lands multiple hits. It begins with a short-range spin-kick, and then Batman pulls his cloak around him to send for hovering robotic bat-bombs. As cheesy as it sounds, if opponents are not blocking, then this move can take out 2-3 fighters in a row easily.

Many iOS Injustice players often state that a random Gold Card Pack should be purchased for 75,000 credits as soon as possible. On the contrary, players would be wise to save-up more and get Batman. When he is supported by both a much weaker and less expensive Bronze Lex Luthor (15% to damage) and a Silver Green Lantern (15% power generation), then this card can carry you well into the last rounds of the game.

4) Red Son Superman

Similar to all the Batman versions, many Superman card-fighters populate the iOS Injustice reality. Superman’s primary weakness is that he is slower than most other fighters. This weakness is often exposed when other cards throw mid-range punches to the stomach. Superman cannot, for some reason, block them. This is usually compensated for by both his level 2 and level 3 special attacks being unblockable.

What makes the Red Son Superman so useful is that his special ability mirrors and exceeds Batman’s. If no other Red Son cards are on your team, then he gives a 25% damage boost. But, if he teams with two other Red Son card-fighters, then this damage boost explodes to 75%.

Superman fans who want to cover his above weaknesses can team him with Red Son Deathstroke, who provides speed boosts. Pair him with Red Son Solomon Grundy for a health boost, or with Red Son Wonder Woman for a power generating boost.

Even if players get a single Red Son Superman card randomly, pair him with Batman to create a 50% damage boost. Fill the last team slot with the Silver Flash card to add a speed boost, and this comrade will take down anyone.

3) Red Son Solomon Grundy

Of the four statistical boosts in the game (damage, health, speed, power generation), speed is the least important. Power is slightly more important than speed, and health boosts are far more useful than either of those. As a result, the Red Son Solomon Grundy is a very important card to have. He offers the largest health boost in the game.

There are three ways to assemble teams with DC’s resident immortal zombie. First, pair him with the other Red Son booster pack cards: Superman and Wonder Woman. This team triples Red Son bonuses. As a result, this combination gets a 75% damage boost from Superman, a 45% health boost from Solomon Grundy, and a 45% power generation boost from Wonder Woman. This is easily one of the best teams in the game.

Second, create a hyper-fast Solomon Grundy by adding him to the team of the Silver Flash and the Red Son Deathstroke. This team gets a 30% health bonus from Grundy and a joint 25% speed boost from Flash and Deathstroke. Honestly, this team is one of the funnest to bash opponents with in the game. Watching Solomon go crazy with speed and health is a rare treat.

Last, team any fighter with the Red Son versions of Grundy and Wonder Woman. These two are amazing support cards, and they boost any fighter to the kingdom of bad-ass-endom.

2) Red Son Wonder Woman

Power generation is the most important boost in the game. Aside from the Silver Green Lantern (15% power generation to teams), Wonder Woman is the only other practical power generator. Although players may be rolling their eyes at the number of Red Son cards on the list, the statistics don’t lie. She matches GL’s ability, and if she is paired with other Red Son cards, then her special ability triples.

Furthermore, this Red Son (Red Daughter?!) deals more damage than any other version of Wonder Woman. Thus, she can hold her own, even if she is primarily used as a support card. Note the teams we outlined for Solomon Grundy as well as the fact that Red Son Wonder Woman makes every fighter in the game better, and she, therefore, solidifies her spot at number 2.

 1) Regime Wonder Woman

20131116-114025.jpg

This is the most feared warrior in all of the iOS Injustice reality. Her Shield of the Gods ability gives her power generation for every blocked attack. Team her either with her Red Son version and Red Son Solomon Grundy, or with the health boosters of Silver Lex Luthor and Arkham Asylum Harley Quinn, and she can easily beat every team in the game, even the dreaded and overly-powered Regime Wonder Woman in the last match.

Players should realize that when she allies with either of the support teams above, that all she has to do is block. Do not attack! Allow the enemies to fuel her special attacks and, then, unleash them. The last word is that no fighter parallels Regime Wonder Woman’s usefulness and skill set. Her mix of long-range attacks (level 1 shield throw) and mid-range attacks (level 2 shield bash) make her the true Queen of not only the Amazons, but Earth’s people as well. Her dominance cannot be emphasized enough!
